About Custom Cut Inc

The best part of a snow night in Colonial Beach is the hour before anyone else is up, when the streets are blank, the golf carts are all put away, and the only sound is a plow blade and the river moving somewhere off to the left. Custom Cut Inc works that hour: driveways, parking areas and the short front walks that a beach town's cottages sit behind. Snow arrives here on a river wind, wet and clinging, and it has to be moved before the day's traffic packs it into ice on Route 205. The reward is small and specific — a drive scraped down clean, a pile stacked out of the way, and headlights pulling out at seven o'clock like nothing ever fell. Then the sun comes up pink over the Potomac and the town gets on with its morning.
