About Stihl

Winter in Henry County is more often ice than snow — one night of freezing rain and by morning every driveway on the hill is glass. Snow removal is the service here: plowing, clearing drives and walkways, and salting the grades that never quite catch the sun. Storms do not come often in this part of Virginia, so when one lands the whole county needs the same morning at the same time. Getting a drive open before people have to leave for work is the reason for starting at four. By the time light clears the ridge, the pavement is already wet and dark.
