Porter's Lawncare

About Porter's Lawncare

Dickenson County is all hollows and grades — the Pound River cutting down through laurel, roads that switch back on themselves, house lots carved into the hillside above Clintwood. Porter's Lawncare works both ends of the year up there: mowing, trimming and edging the steep summer grass, cleanups when the hardwoods let go into every ditch and gutter, and plowing, shoveling and salting when a mountain storm shuts the county in. A hillside driveway in the coalfields has to be cleared properly or it can't be used at all. The ground is never flat and the work is never light, and that is simply what this country asks. A yard cut clean or a drive opened to the road — either way, somebody's week gets easier.
