Power Zone

About Power Zone

Christiansburg sits high on its plateau, high enough that a storm coming up the valley can turn to sleet here while it stays rain below. Power Zone handles what that leaves behind: plowing driveways and lots, clearing walks and steps, and treating ice on the glazed north sides where the sun never gets a chance. Freezing rain is the difficult one, arriving quiet, coating everything, turning an ordinary sidewalk into a hazard by breakfast. Getting out ahead of it means being in the dark with salt and a scraper while most of the county is still asleep. Morning comes, the pavement is clear, and nobody has to think about it at all.
