About Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce

Main Street runs along the channel, and in winter the shop fronts sit under a light that comes off the water pale and level. Snow removal is the work on offer here: plowing lots and drives, clearing sidewalks, and putting salt where a thaw-and-freeze has glazed the brick overnight. A barrier island does not get many white mornings, which is precisely why the ones it gets have to be answered fast. Walks cleared early mean doors open on schedule and nobody has to pick their way in. Small thing, and the whole street leans on it.
