About Worden Paving

Chester winters run mostly gray and wet, and then one hard night drops the thermometer and a whole parking lot turns to glass. Worden Paving is out in that blue half-dark ahead of the workday, plowing the wide flat lots near the interstate, windrowing snow into the far corners where it can melt out of everyone's way, treating the aprons and the accessible spaces first. Private roads and long drives get the same care — pushed wide, edges squared, de-icer laid on the grades where a slope wants to send a car sideways. There is no showmanship in it; the measure of a night is whether the first vehicles in roll straight to a space without a slip. Then the light comes up over the pines, the pavement is clear, and Chester opens on schedule.
