About ARW Contracting Inc.

Winter arrives in Chester on a southwest wind, and it rarely announces itself the same way twice — one storm powders the pines along Old Stage Road, the next lays down a hard, glassy sleet. ARW Contracting Inc. works those nights, plowing lots, opening driveways and walkways, and treating the glaze a hard Chester freeze leaves behind. There is a particular satisfaction in the sound of a blade finding pavement, and in the black stripe of a driveway opened while the rest of the street is still white. By the time the shops along West Hundred Road unlock their doors, the lots are down to asphalt and the walks are gritted. Chester is a town that gets on with its day, and this is the work that lets it.
