Tracstar Snow Cat

About Tracstar Snow Cat

Run south on the Chesapeake Expressway on a January night and the sky turns enormous, farmland and pine on both sides, the temperature falling the whole way to the Currituck line. Tracstar Snow Cat works that kind of freeze: plowing drives and lots, pushing back whatever the wind has drifted against a building, clearing walks, and laying salt on the packed spots. Open country lets snow travel sideways, so a lane cleared at midnight can want a second pass by four. Going back for that second pass is most of the job. When the sun finally comes up over all that flat ground, the pavement is dark and the day can start.
