About Rakestraw Lawn Care Inc

Up on the Floyd County plateau the light runs thinner and the air stays cooler, and grass keeps its own schedule — slow to start in May, then generous all through a mountain summer. Rakestraw Lawn Care Inc mows the high yards around Check, where a lawn may run right up against a hayfield and Route 8 falls away in switchbacks toward the Little River. Mowing, trimming and edging give a mountain property a defined middle, a place that reads as a yard rather than a clearing. Fall cleanup counts for a great deal here, with hardwoods on every slope and a wind that puts the leaves wherever it likes. On a clear evening the finished work sits in the last of the light and looks like it belongs there.
