About Guy P. Riddle, Inc.

Chatham sits up on its hill with the courthouse at the top, and every street in town carries a grade — which is exactly the trouble when a January storm turns to freezing rain overnight. Guy P. Riddle, Inc. handles those Pittsylvania slopes: plowing driveways, clearing lots, and putting down salt where a car would otherwise drift toward the curb. Steps, walks and entryways are shoveled by hand, because a hill town is walked as much as it is driven. The work begins before the town does and keeps going while sleet is still ticking on the truck roof. A cleared drive on a gray morning is a small thing that changes the shape of the whole day.
