About Virginia Lawnscapes LLC

Snow reaches Charlottesville from the west, spilling over the Blue Ridge at Afton and running down the long slope of Route 250 while the town is still asleep. Virginia Lawnscapes LLC watches for exactly that — the radar, the temperature that stalls at thirty-one, the first flakes going sideways under a streetlight. Plowing is night work, and it has its own rhythm: push, back, turn, and the black stripe of pavement widening behind the blade. By the time the sky goes gray over Carter Mountain the driveway is open and the walk is cleared down to bare concrete, its edges squared like something drawn with a ruler. It is a quiet way to be useful to a neighborhood; most people never see it happen, they only see the morning it made possible.
