Feldmann's Inc

About Feldmann's Inc

Route 20 runs south out of Charlottesville toward Scottsville and the James, dipping through hollows that hold cold air long after the ridges have warmed. Those low places keep a snow honest — it lingers on the shaded bends and packs down hard in any driveway that was not opened early. Feldmann's Inc plows and clears through that country and back into the city, opening drives and lots, shoveling walks and entries, and treating ice where the ground stays in shadow. A southern Albemarle storm can turn to rain by noon and refreeze by dark, which makes the second look as important as the first. Nobody notices the work, which is exactly how a cleared property should feel.
