Dr. Powerwash

About Dr. Powerwash

Route 29 north is where Charlottesville runs its errands, and a snowy morning turns every lot along Rio Hill into a puzzle of banks and buried curbs. The work starts before the doors open: plowing pavement clean, pushing the piles somewhere they will not block a lane, shoveling entries and salting the walks people cross first. Dr. Powerwash takes on that winter clearing around the city and the northern corridor. Storms on this side of town tend to arrive overnight and turn to slush by mid-afternoon, so the early hours carry the whole job. There is a plain pride in pavement that looks like the storm skipped it.
