About Digs, Inc.

Out east toward Keswick the Southwest Mountains take the morning light first, and after a snow that whole rolling country goes quiet and blank. Farm lanes and long private drives around Cismont and Boyd Tavern do not clear themselves; they want a plow run twice, a shovel at the steps, and salt where the shade sits all day. Digs, Inc. does that winter clearing across Charlottesville and the eastern county. Virginia snow often falls wet and short-lived, which makes the timing of the first pass matter more than the depth on the ruler. By breakfast the drive is a dark ribbon through white fields, and that is the entire point.
