About Matt's Yard Works

October in Kings Park West is mostly oak leaves, and oak leaves do not go quietly. Matt's Yard Works spends that season chasing them off lawns, out of beds and away from the cul-de-sac curbs, while the mowing tapers to every other week and then to the last cut of the year. Spring and summer are the steady part: cut, trim, edge, blow, repeat, on the day the yard is expecting it. There is a good feeling in a lawn that goes into November clean and ready to sleep. Burke's streets bend and dead-end, and every yard behind them has its own quirks — which is half of why the work stays interesting.
