About Planters & Designers

The yards along Windsor Avenue climb in steps, retaining walls holding beds that have been planted and replanted for generations. Planters & Designers works in that grain, preparing and planting beds, laying mulch up to a cut edge, trimming and shaping, mowing what lawn runs between the borders, and handling the cleanups that open and close the growing year. Spring arrives up these slopes a few days behind the flats, dogwood first, then everything at once. Choosing what belongs on a shaded terrace versus a hot south-facing bank is half the pleasure of the work. When it is right, a yard looks less arranged than simply at home where it stands.
