About Total Lawn Care

April comes up the Toms Creek bottoms in a rush of redbud and wet green, and all at once every lawn in Blacksburg needs a decision made about it. Total Lawn Care makes it — the first mow of the year, the ragged winter edges brought back true, the beds given a border you could measure with a string. There is a particular pleasure in the moment the mower closes its last pass and a yard that was shaggy on Thursday sits square in Friday's sun. This town's red clay and limestone shelves grow a stubborn, honest grass, and keeping it handsome means returning, week after week, through the whole long green run to October. That is the job, and the crew is glad to have it — here at home and out across the towns around it.
