About Highland Tree Care, LLC

Blacksburg sits high enough that clouds come through town instead of over it, and on a wet morning Brush Mountain disappears altogether. Highland Tree Care, LLC works those neighborhoods and the lanes running out toward the Huckleberry and Poverty Creek, pruning white oaks and maples for structure, trimming limbs off roofs and gravel drives, removing the ones hollowed at the base. Ice is the plateau's real weather; it loads a crown overnight and takes the top out of a tree by breakfast, and clearing that is a long day of cutting up wood and putting a yard back together. Summers up here are mild and long, which is a mercy when you are eighty feet off the ground. A canopy thinned before winter carries the load better, and that is the whole argument for doing it early.
