Pace and Son Landscaping works that season all the way out — leaf cleanup, final mowings, cutting back what ran wild all summer, edging the walks clean before the cold arrives. The hillsides above Poplar Gap Park run steep enough that raking counts as a legitimate workout. Still, there is nothing like a hillside lawn stripped bare of leaves with the ridge blazing behind it. Then the yard is ready and winter can do as it likes.
