About Mackeys Property Solutions

Storms reach Alexandria from the west, down over the Blue Ridge and along the Duke Street corridor, and the wide lots around Landmark and Van Dorn are the first open ground they land on. Mackeys Property Solutions plows that ground — long straight runs across the asphalt, entrances kept open, snow banked at the edges rather than in front of a door. Sidewalks and ramps are shoveled and salted by hand, since that is where a lot goes from cleared to genuinely usable. When freezing drizzle follows the snow, the crew comes back to re-treat, because a lot that melted at noon will be a rink by nine. It is night-shift work, and it decides whether a place opens in the morning.
