Landed

About Landed

Where the old rail yard became Potomac Yard, the ground is new and the lawns are still learning how to be lawns. Landed tends them — mowing, edging, the week-to-week work that turns a builder's sod into turf with roots under it. Four Mile Run sits close by, and a June storm can come up that corridor from the southwest and leave the whole flat green expanse steaming by mid-morning. Cut on time here and young grass thickens; skip a week in that heat and it runs to seed and stem. This is the north end of Alexandria growing into itself, one clean pass at a time.
