50 Shades of Lawns

About 50 Shades of Lawns

Rosemont's front yards climb their little terraces above Russell Road, and by mid-morning in June every one of them is a different green — the deep shade pooled under a tulip poplar, the bright blaze where the sun finally clears the rooflines. 50 Shades of Lawns reads those gradations for a living, mowing and trimming to the grain of each yard instead of flattening it. Edges come out clean along the brick walks, and the clippings are carried off so the turf can breathe. Spring and fall cleanups keep the borders honest at both ends of the year. It is ordinary work done with attention, and Alexandria wears it well.
