About Johnson's Mowing Company

Late August in this county tips toward the fair, and everything anybody owns gets a haircut before that week begins. Johnson's Mowing Company holds to the same standard the rest of the year — mowing, trimming, edging, and carting off the clippings. Abingdon in the last stretch of summer runs hot at midday and cools quickly after supper, and grass takes advantage of both. The good part of the job is pulling up to a yard that has gotten away from someone and leaving it looking deliberate again. Nothing fancy about it: the mower goes where it is needed, and the town looks better street by street.
