About Austin’s Excavation LLC

By four in the morning the interstate grade at the north edge of Abingdon has already gone white, and the town below it is still asleep. That is the hour Austin's Excavation LLC goes out with the plow — lots first, then the driveways on the side streets, then the walks people will step onto at seven without a second thought. Snow here can drop a foot on the high ground and an inch in town on the same night, so the work starts with reading which storm you woke up to. Salt goes down behind the blade, the banks get pushed back where they will not slide again by noon, and the pavement turns dark and honest. A drive opened before the first car needs it is a small thing that makes a whole winter day possible.
