About Smart Landscaping

January light in Washington comes in low and thin, and it finds every unpruned branch and every ragged bed edge in a yard. That is the stretch Smart Landscaping likes for shaping work — cutting dormant shrubs and ornamentals back, clearing spent growth out of the beds, keeping the grass mowed while it is still growing slow. Out toward Warner Valley the country runs to open sage and bare stone, which makes a kept yard read that much sharper against it. Come the first warm week of the year, the plants that got attention in winter are the ones that come out ahead. Washington, Green Springs and Hurricane sit along the route.
