Avid Pest & Lawn works straight through the season there — the last mowings of the year, edges held sharp, blown grit and leaf litter raked out of the rock beds, weeds cut down before they can set seed for spring. Fall is the honest season for a lawn: everything done in June shows, and everything skipped shows too. The small things get the attention — a clean line along the driveway, a fed lawn heading into the cool months — so the grass comes through the short days with something in reserve. On a clear afternoon up on that shelf the whole valley lies open below, and the tended yards look tended.
