About LMLM

North of town Ben Lomond takes its first snow in October while the valley below is still shirtsleeve warm, and that split is how Washington Terrace tells time. LMLM reads the same calendar: mowing while the grass is still growing, then leaf work once the maples let go along the side streets. Fall cleanup is a satisfying kind of labor because all of it shows — a yard goes from buried to bare in a single afternoon. Blades come down low into the season, edges are cut back, beds cleared so nothing sits rotting under the first storm. Come spring the lawn wakes up clean, which is exactly the point of doing it right in October.
