SnowWorks

About SnowWorks

On the coldest mornings in Syracuse, a fog sits low over the fields west of town and freezes directly onto anything left outdoors overnight, driveways included. SnowWorks starts before that fog burns off, running the plow through the newer neighborhoods off the numbered grid streets while the snow is still light enough to push rather than scrape. Walkways get shoveled clean to the concrete, and the front steps get a pass of salt so the ice doesn't creep back once the sun starts working on it. Commercial lots and residential driveways alike get cleared in the same steady order, route after route, until the last cul-de-sac is done. The fog lifts off the fields eventually, and the streets already look like winter decided to behave itself.
