Gil; Snow Removal

About Gil; Snow Removal

Syracuse was farmland not long ago, and the streets still run in the long straight lines the old fields were platted on, which makes for efficient plow routes when a storm rolls through overnight. Gil; Snow Removal works those numbered grid streets before dawn, clearing driveways and walkways so the earliest commuters aren't the ones breaking trail through six inches of fresh powder. Ice tends to bank up hardest where new construction has changed the drainage, so those spots get salted first and checked again once the sun is higher. Shoveling the walkways by hand finishes what the plow can't reach, right up to each front step. It's methodical work, one straight block after another, until the whole grid sits clear under a flat winter sky.
