When a real storm does drop snow on St. George, it's news — the red bluffs above town go white for a morning, and the desert town under them scrambles harder than a mountain valley twice as far north. Bryce Christensen Excavating, Inc. brings the same heavy equipment it uses for grading and site work to clearing snow off driveways, lots, and the access roads out toward the Arizona strip. A single big machine can open a stretch of road in the time it takes a shovel crew to do one driveway, and in a town unused to real accumulation, that speed matters. By afternoon, when the desert sun has already started undoing the rest, the roads they've cleared stay open regardless. It's rare work, done well, in a place that gets maybe a handful of mornings like it each winter.
