About 5N yard works
Before the heat finds St. George there is a blue half hour when the Black Ridge is still a silhouette and the pavement has finally let go of yesterday. That is the hour 5N yard works likes best — mower stripes laid down while the grass is cool, edges opened along the walk, clippings swept off the concrete before the sun clears the rim. Lawn care in this valley is a conversation with the desert: feed the turf, keep the weeds out of it, hold a green line against all that red rock. By the time the neighborhood is up and moving, the yard is finished and the gate is latched. It is a small thing, a mowed lawn in a red-rock town, and it makes a whole street feel looked after.
