In February the inversion settles gray over the valley for days at a time, and then a front pushes through and the Oquirrhs come back sharp on the western skyline. Rasmussen Landscapes waits out that stretch and moves the moment it breaks, with mowers, trimmers and edgers back across South Salt Lake by the first genuinely warm weeks. Early-season work decides the rest of the year: the opening cuts, aeration, feeding the turf ahead of the heat, staying in front of the weeds before they ever get a footing. There is a particular pleasure in watching a tired, brown lawn come fully green again and then hold it. The crew's job is keeping it there, week after week, straight through the summer.
