South Salt Lake's older residential streets run narrow and close together, small lots set tight against each other in rows that don't leave much room for a big plow blade to work with. Hormiga Landscapes handles those blocks a different way — walkway by walkway, driveway by driveway, small equipment moving steadily down a street the way a line of ants moves across a sidewalk, one load at a time. It's slower than clearing a wide-open lot, but it gets every narrow gap between houses actually cleared instead of skipped over. The work is driveways, front walks, and the tight side passages some of these older homes still have between them. By the end of a block, every one of those small spaces is open again, even the ones a bigger crew might have left for later.
