There's a particular ten minutes most West Jordan mornings, right after a storm clears, when the Wasatch peaks to the east catch the first sun before the valley floor does, turning the ridge above Lone Peak a color somewhere between rose and rust while every driveway below still sits in shadow and cold. Scenic View Landscape times its heaviest routes for exactly that window, clearing driveways and scraping walkways while the light show plays out overhead, because the plowing has to happen whether or not anyone stops to look up. A shoveled front walk against that kind of skyline looks almost staged, snowbanks glowing faintly pink at the edges for the few minutes the color lasts before daylight takes over completely and everything goes ordinary white again. The name fits the work only by coincidence, but the crew has learned to love the timing of it anyway, plow blades scraping pavement under a mountain range doing something spectacular for free. Once the light flattens out, the job is just the job again — driveways bare, walks salted, snow banked clean at the curb.
