Harrisville is still stitching itself together, farm fields on one side of a street and new rooflines on the other, and that seam is exactly where Pitt Landscape does its winter work. Driveways on the newer lots get plowed alongside the gravel farm lanes still running behind them, two different kinds of ground under the same storm. Snow falling at dusk here tends to gather fastest over the open fields, drifting toward the new foundations before it ever reaches the paved cul-de-sacs, so the crew often starts at the field edge and works its way in toward the finished streets. Streetlights are still sparse enough on some of these blocks that the last driveway of the evening gets cleared by headlight alone. It's a town caught between two kinds of ground, and the plowing follows that same line, night after night.
