About larry's lawn

On a Saturday morning near Sugar House Park you can hear one mower at a time, block by block, the sound moving down the street like a slow wave. larry's lawn belongs to that hour, mowing, trimming and edging front and back yards for neighbors who notice which houses got cut this week. Salt Lake grass runs hard from May into September and then quits nearly overnight, so the work is mostly about showing up on the same day, week after week. Standing at the curb afterward with the Wasatch stacked behind the rooflines and the turf laid flat and even is its own small reward. Straight lines, tight corners, nothing left behind on the concrete.
