About Spectrum Soil Solutions

Everything in Roy starts underground. The ground here is old lakebed and bench gravel left behind when Lake Bonneville drew down, and it runs alkaline and tight — grass has to be persuaded, not simply watered. Spectrum Soil Solutions works that layer first: soil testing, fertilization built to what the test actually says, core aeration, overseeding, topdressing and weed control. Early spring is the good part, when the cores lie drying on the surface like a field of small punctuation and the roots go looking for the openings. A lawn fed from the soil up holds its color into the hard weeks of the year, and holds it on less water. Roy and the neighboring towns — Clinton, Sunset, Clearfield, Hooper, West Haven and Riverdale.
