April in Roy arrives with a sound to it: the secondary water coming back into the lines and sprinklers ticking awake over yards that spent the whole winter the color of straw. One Stop Lawn and landscape LLC spends those first warm mornings out on the west side of town, where the streets run toward the sloughs and the Great Salt Lake lies flat and silver past the last of the fields. The work is the ordinary round — mowing, trimming, fertilizing, weed control, spring and fall cleanups — and it is what turns a tired yard back into something a family walks across barefoot by June. The satisfying part is the final pass, when the stripes line up straight down the length of a lawn and the walks are blown clean behind them.
