Kyle's Green Thumb Lawn Care

About Kyle's Green Thumb Lawn Care

There is a week in May when Roosevelt turns two colors at once: the irrigated lawns go abruptly, improbably green while the ground beyond the last row of houses stays the muted silver it has been all winter. Kyle's Green Thumb Lawn Care lives for that first real cut of the season and for every one after it — mowing, trimming and edging on a rhythm the grass can count on. Cut too short and this high, dry ground punishes you for it, so the height gets set with some care and the lines get walked straight. A well-kept lawn out here reads almost like a small declaration against the country around it. Standing at the curb after the mower shuts off, with the smell of cut grass still hanging, you can see the whole point of the work.
