Utah County Hauling spends most of the year moving what other people can't move themselves, and in winter that means the piles of snow a plow leaves behind with nowhere left to go. Along Geneva Road and the industrial stretches west of Center Street, a lot can fill in fast enough that pushing snow to the edge just isn't enough anymore, and that's where the trucks come in, hauling it off entirely so a loading dock or a driveway stays usable through the whole storm cycle. The work starts with the plowing itself, blade down before the morning rush, then the follow-up trucks loading out what's left once the banks get too tall to ignore. There's a particular satisfaction in a lot that looked like a small mountain range at dawn and reads flat and open again by noon. Provo's valley floor holds onto snow longer than the benches above it, which keeps this crew busy well past the point everyone else has called it done.
