Winter work starts with the lanes the crew paved themselves come summer, plow blades set low enough to clear the snow without touching the surface underneath. The town's flat, open geography means a storm off the lake doesn't stop at the property line — it drifts across whole fields and piles against the first driveway it meets, so the plowing here runs long and low, block after open block. A parking apron gets scraped to bare blacktop, a walk gets shoveled to the same clean line, salt down before the overnight freeze sets the meltwater into ice. By the time the sun breaks over the Wasatch to the east, the driveways sit dark and dry against all that white.
