In the brick-bungalow blocks off Jefferson Avenue the lawns are small, square and older than most of the trees shading them, and they reward being handled by hand. Old School Landscape works that way on purpose: a walk-behind on the tight ones, the edge run true along the strip of sidewalk, the trim taken close around porch steps and lilacs. April here is all mud and green at once, and the first cut of the year on one of those old yards is a genuinely good feeling. Through the summer the crew keeps the height honest and the corners sharp, and in the fall the leaves come off before the frost pins them down. Nothing complicated, just lawn care done the way it holds up, on Ogden's oldest streets and its newest alike.
