The edge is the part people notice last and remember longest: the clean line where lawn stops and sidewalk begins. Divine Edge cuts that line through Mount Pleasant, out on the wide floor of the Sanpete Valley with the San Pitch range low to the west and the Wasatch Plateau rising blue behind Main Street's old stone fronts. Autumn arrives early up at this elevation, and the cottonwoods along Pleasant Creek go yellow while the lawns are still growing, so the season ends in final mows and leaf hauling. Mowing, trimming, edging, clearing off what falls: the ordinary list, worked in order. A yard on a broad Sanpete street can look like it belongs to the mountains behind it, and that is the aim.
