About Sandstone Landscape

Out toward the west side of Layton, where the ground flattens before it runs down to the lakeshore flats, Sandstone Landscape builds patios and walkways in the warm-toned stone that gives the company its name. Snow shows that stone off in an odd way — the pale gray-gold catching what little winter light there is, standing out against a white yard once it's been cleared. Winter work means keeping those same walkways and driveways passable, block by block across the flatter west-side streets where the wind can pile drifts against a fence line fast. The company treats a cleared patio the same as a cleared driveway: worth doing right, not just doing fast. On a still morning out here, with the lake close enough to smell on the air, a shoveled walk feels like the start of the day rather than a chore to get through.
