About Mountain Home Services

The highest homes on Layton's east bench sit close enough to the Wasatch that the mountains fill the windows, and the driveways serving them tend to run steep — a real problem once a storm packs snow onto them overnight. Mountain Home Services works that upper edge of town, where the grade alone can strand a car until someone gets a plow blade or a shovel to it. The work here is patient: clear the drive in stages, keep the walk to the door open, watch for the ice that forms where a driveway's slope meets the flat of the garage pad. Snow tends to linger longer on these upper streets than it does in the flats below, shaded as they are by the mountain itself through the shortest days of the year. A cleared driveway on one of these hillside lots, mountains rising right behind the house, is a good morning's work.
