Canyon Palms, Palm Tree Services

About Canyon Palms, Palm Tree Services

Late in the day the sandstone above Tuacahn turns the color of a struck match, and the palms along the Kayenta lanes throw long saw-toothed shadows across the gravel. Canyon Palms, Palm Tree Services works in that hour and the cooler ones on either side of it, trimming fronds and limbs, pruning for shape and clearance, and taking down trees that have outgrown their corner of the desert. Ivins yards are small worlds of green held together by drip line and attention, and a crown cut clean reads all the way down the block. After a squall races in off the Santa Clara bench, the wreck of it comes out too, broken limbs and torn fronds swept back to bare concrete. The satisfaction is plain: a lot that looks composed again by the time the cliffs turn pink.
