The hedges the crew trims all summer mark the edges of nearly every path they clear in winter, so the work follows lines already familiar from June. Storms coming off the canyons above town tend to catch these lower blocks last, giving the crew a little more daylight to work with than routes higher on the bench. By full dark, the walkways between the bare hedgerows sit clear and salted, waiting on nothing but the next storm to test them again.
