The Lazy Lawn

About The Lazy Lawn

Midsummer in old Bountiful is a slow thing — maples heavy over the side streets near Main, the tabernacle's white steeple holding the last of the afternoon, sprinklers ticking somewhere down the block. The Lazy Lawn is built for exactly that pace: you rest, the mowing gets done. Regular cuts, trimmed borders, edges run straight along the sidewalk, clippings gathered and gone before anyone gets home. There is a particular pleasure in a yard that looks effortless, as though it simply grew that way. Come Saturday, the only thing left to do is sit out in it.
