Storms tend to arrive from the northwest here, sliding down off the lake, and the crew tracks that pattern to decide which streets need a second pass before dark. Driveways near the older part of town, close to where the original lots were platted, sit at odd angles that take a different approach than the newer grid streets closer to the freeway. By the time the streetlights come up, the routes closest to the historic ground are usually the first ones finished.
