Pasture Perfect

About Pasture Perfect

Amalga lies out on the open floor of northern Cache Valley, where dairy barns and hayfields run flat toward the Bear River Range and morning light spills early over its crest. Pasture Perfect mows and tends yards in this farm town, and the name suits the country: grass grown thick and kept even, like a field of hay the evening before the swather comes through. Spring arrives late this far north, then all at once, and the first cuts have to come right on time to stay ahead of the flush. Through the long summer evenings, edges stay squared and the clippings stay off the drive. Lawns in Amalga look out on working land, and they hold their own beside it.
